A festival favourite from QSFF19, End of the Century is back due to popular demand.
Ocho, an Argentinian poet from New York, and Javi, a Spanish filmmaker from Berlin, meet by chance while in Barcelona. What’s initially intended to be a brief hook-up, they realise that they had previously met twenty years earlier. This serendipitous relationship is told in a non-linear fashion in three parts.
Winner of the Frameline Jury Prize for First Feature, Lucio Castro captures the romanticism of a balmy European summer and explores the role of fate and chance in our sexual encounters. Is this just a summer fling or are they meant for each?
Frameline San Francisco International LGBTQ Film Festival 2019 Winner Jury Prize
Buenos Aires International Festival of Independent Cinema 2019 Winner Best Argentinian Film
"End of the Century is the natural descendant of lush romances like Weekend and Call Me By Your Name, and will certainly endure as one of the most evocative gay films of the decade. - Indiewire
