Evening Shadows

Evening Shadows
Evening Shadows

Upon returning to his hometown to visit his parents, Kartik (Devansh Doshi), is shocked to discover that his overbearing father has found him a bride. Now, he must decide whether or not to come out to his mother Vasudha (Mona Ambegaonkar), the only person who has ever truly attempted to understand him.

Evening Shadows is an important look at LGBT people in India, and the trials they face in order to be accepted, even within their own families. "I feel like I’ve come out of the closet but I’ve locked her in," Kartik tells his lover, Aman (Arpit Chaudhary), as he struggles to separate the pain he feels in his mother’s contempt and the knowledge that he deserves to be free.
