King Cobra is the film everyone has been waiting to see on the big screen. A gay porn biopic full of hot young actors, featuring James Franco, and about the biggest gay porn scandal ever. Expect this to sell fast.
This is the true story of adult film star Brent Corrigan (Garrett Clayton). Corrigan, born Sean Paul Lockhart, is discovered by low-budget film producer Stephen (Christian Slater) and becomes his big star – with benefits – for Cobra Films. However, rival porn-mogul Joe (Franco) and his lover Harlow (Keegan Allen) want to nab this sexy twink for their own project. But things aren't that easy, and Stephen has no intention of letting his pert protégé go.
This tale of an ambitious up-and-comer in the world of pornographic films carries a feeling of Boogie Nights, and shares its darker side. Rivalries, excess, salacious scandals, some downright dirty times, and even murder give this story plenty of bite.
All four male leads throw themselves into their roles with gusto. And with Alicia Silverstone and Molly Ringwald rounding out the very eclectic cast, this may just be the sexiest, campest, darkest film of the whole festival.
"Movies don't get much juicier, funnier, creepier, sadder, or smarter than writer-director Justin Kelly‘s King Cobra which dramatizes a real-life murder case set in the world of gay porn." – The Wrap
"Franco is at his brazen best…" – The Guardian
"King Cobra is a sensitive and darkly hilarious true crime story that works from top to bottom." – IndieWire
