When our hapless heroine, Billie (Lisa Cordileone) quits her job in a fog of dissatisfaction and edibles, she soon realises her dream wedding to Gayle (Natasha Negovanlis) is now on the line.
Billie soon embarks on a “get rich quick” scheme as she plots to launch a tech start up company. Pooling the resources and skills of the all female out-of-work freelancers she finds in a church basement, Billie is spurred on by the promise of the perfect wedding, and the start of a million dollar enterprise.
Aided and often abetted by the group of misfits, Billie’s hairbrained idea starts to take shape – if only one of them knew how to build an app.
Cordileone (Easy Abby) and Negovanlis (Carmilla, Almost Adults) play a delightfully mismatched yet believable couple and the supporting cast features a host of talented and familiar faces, like Alexandra Billings (Transparent) and Megan Cavanagh (Exes and Ohs).
A screwball comedy without the heteronormality, Freelancers Anonymous is hilarious.
