Showcasing filmmaking at its most beautifully poetic and side-splittingly outrageous, each story offers a unique perspective on gay existence.

Featuring Iris Prize 2019 winner Black Hat, about a Hasidic man’s seemingly pious existence colliding with his hidden night life, and Queer Palm Short Film 2018 winner The Orphan, about a young teenager whose adoptive parents return him for being different, at their core each film in this collection grapples with the nature of perception and how we categorise people.

They’re accompanied by the stereotype-busting reminiscences of a man’s relationship with his father in Memoirs of a Geeza, the elaborate lengths someone will go to – with Céline Dion’s assistance – to surprise his boyfriend in Sparkling Candles, and the moving portrait of a dancer whose dreams come up against reality in early-’80s San Francisco in First Position.

Those films are followed by the not-so outlandish tale of a man fleeing his homeland seeking asylum at the Turkish border in The Foreigner, a random act of kindness that fills a man with joy in The Sweater, and finally the hilarious The Dawn of a New Gay, about a man’s sexual awakening in his university days.
