Director Gregor Schmidinger takes his audience to Nevrland, a provocative and striking film where desire and horror viscerally blend.

Living with his father and grandfather in a small apartment in Vienna, Jakob (newcomer Simon Früwirth) is biding his time until he starts college. After taking a job at an abattoir with his father, feelings of anxiety increasingly take control. His only outlet is his mindless scrolling through porn sites. One night, he accidentally stumbles upon 26-year-old artist Kristjan in a cam-chat sex site, and the lines between fantasy and reality begin to blur. Shots of astounding beauty are interrupted with jolting panic attacks in a manner that is reminiscent of David Lynch.

Listed as one of "BFI Flare's Must-See Films" by Time Out London, this film offers Jakob’s sexual awakening and self-discovery as an existential journey for the audience.
