106 Mins | Germany | English, and German, Persian, and Arabic with English subtitles | Narrative Feature | 2020Winner of the Best First Feature Award at Canada’s Inside Out Film Festival 2020 and the Teddy Award at the 2020 Berlin International Film Festival, No Hard Feelings is a fantastic debut from director Faraz Shariat.
Parvis, the second generation son of exiled Iranian parents in Germany, finds himself sentenced to community service in a refugee camp after shoplifting. Already caught at the intersection of being gay and a person of colour, he discovers even more about himself as he meets refugee siblings Banafshae and Amon and falls in love with Amon.
Inspired by the director’s own life, we are taken on a heartwarming, sometimes funny and poignant journey of fleeting youth and first love through a lens of displacement, modern hook-up culture and sexuality.
