Argentine filmmaker Marco Berger (The Astronaut Lovers, QSFF24) returns with a gently absurd, homoerotic fable where “man’s best friend” is literally a man.
In a gorgeously filmed black-and-white world where “dogs” are represented by naked men and “cats” are represented by naked women, Juan discovers a stray on the edge of the forest. On holiday with his friends and girlfriend, Juan brings him back to their cabin to feed, bathe and shower with affection. What begins as an act of compassion slowly deepens into something far more intimate, as an unspoken bond forms between the pair. Juan’s girlfriend warns him not to get too attached, but what’s the harm in a few pats, belly rubs and sloppy kisses between friends?
